That hereafter the reports of the Geological Survey, except the R€P<>¤¤· annual report of the Director, shall be published in editions as recommended in each case by the Director and approved by the Secretary of the Interior, but not to exceed ten thousand copies. That whenever the edition of any of the reports of the Survey shall Ad‘“*i°¤’** °°P**—‘¤ have become exhausted, and the demand for it continues, there shall ' be published, on the requisition of the Secretary of the Interior, as man additional copies of the report as the Director of the Survey shallystate will, in his judgment, be necessary to meet the demand.
