Contingent expenses. For miscellaneous expenditures, including telegraphing, fuel, lights, foreign postage, labor, repairs of buildings, care of grounds, books of reference, periodicals, and other necessaries, directly ordered by the Attorney-General, five thousand dollars.

Alaska, traveling expenses. To pay amounts found due by the accounting officers of the Treasury on account of the appropriation "Traveling expenses, Territory of Alaska," for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and two, one hundred and eleven dollars and seventy-four cents.

Spanish Claims Commission. For salaries and expenses, Spanish Treaty Claims Commission, namely: For expenses of taking testimony abroad, to be available until used, twenty thousand dollars.

Defending suits in claims. For defraying the necessary expenses, including salaries of necessary employees in Washington, District of Columbia, incurred in the examination of witnesses and procuring of evidence in the matter of claims against the United States and in defending suits in the Court of Claims, including defense for the United States in the matter of French spoliation claims, to be expended under the direction of the Attorney-General, for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and three, seven hundred and sixty-seven dollars and twenty-three cents.

Western Union Telegraph Company.

For payment to the Western Union Telegraph Company for transmitting certain messages from and to the office of the United States district attorney for the District of Columbia during the fiscal years eighteen hundred and ninety-four, eighteen hundred and ninety-five, and eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, forty-seven dollars and thirty-seven cents.
