PROCLAMATIONS, 1918. 1869 the acquisition of which authority is herein granted and for which aplpropriations are herein made; Provided, That if said lands an alppurtenances and improvements shall be taken over as aforesai , the United States shall make just compensation therefor, to be determined by the President, and if the amount thereof, so determined by the President is unsatisfactory to the person entitled to receive the same, such person shall be paid seventy-Eve percentum of the amount so determined by the President an shall be entitled to sue the ·United States to recover such further sum as added to said seventy-five percentum make up such amount as will be just compensation therefor, m the manner provided for by section *24, aragraph 20 (and) section 145, of the Judicial Code; Providedifurther, that upon the taking over of said property by the President as aforesaid the title to all property so taken over shall immediately vest m the United States". _ And, WHEREAS, there was taken over in accordance with the y§{§g'§,,,,M‘$; D°P°‘· provisions of the said above described act by proclamation dated AM¢.D-182'L August 7, 1918 (1472) a certain tract of land as a site for the Navy @11e Depot near Yorktown, Va., which tract of land is described in said roclamation as "Tract #7", and , , W FIEREAS, it is a military necessity for the_United States to take fpossession of and title to a certain tract of land for the purpose of a ording an adequate and satisfactory railroad connection for said “Tract #7 " as described in the proclamation aforesaid, NOW, THEREFORE, KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRES- ,,,§,9§,$§“,,,°j',§,,§,*l“°“ °' ENTS, that I, Woodrow Wilson, Presidentof the United States of America, by virtue of the power and authority vestedin me by the said Act of Congress approved July 1, 1918, o hereby on behalf of the United States, take title to and authorize the Secretary of the · Navy to take possession of the following described tract of land: Lands Being all that certain tract of land situate, lying and being part in mmeeamiw mmm the County of Warwick and part in the County 0 York, both in the State of Virginia, as the same is shown on a map on file in the Office of the Solicitor, Department of the Navy, w ich malp bears the legend, "Department of the Navy, Bureau of Yards & ocks, Navy Mine Depot, Yorktown, Va. Refer to Y & D #81324% which said certain tract of land is more definitely described as follows; Beginning for the same at an iron stake in the northeast D¢¤¢¤¤¢f¤¤- boundary lme of the right of wa of the Chesapeake & Ohio R. R. Co. between the stations of lies Hall and Grove, Virginia and opposite a certain point which point is distance, measured along the center line of the said right of way of the Chesapeake & Ohio R. R. Co. three thousand three hundred and sevent - seven and seventy hundredths feet (3377.70') more or less northeast of mile post #28 as enumerated from Fortress Monroe, Va.; thence north fifty-one degrees thirty minutes east a distance of seventy-one feet (T1') more or less; thence in a southeasterly and then northeasterly direction a distance of one thousand four hundred and seventy-eiglht feet (1478') more or less along a circular arc of eight un red and fifty-five and thirty-six hundredths feet (S55.36’) radius; thence north forty- two decrees thirty minutes east a distance of twenty-Eve hundred) feet (2500’) more or less; thence south forty-seven degrees thirty minutes east a distance of fifty feet (50’) more or less: thence north forty-two degrees thirty minutes east a distance of one hundred and ten and sixty hundredths feet (110.60’)
