V¤*~=¤¤¤’B¤¤¤¤¤~ For_ carrying out the provisions of an Act entitled "An Act to 5°***’i°°¤°‘;°‘P°¤S°S· establish a Veterans’ Bureau and to improve the facilities and serv- m' p` 14 ` ice of such bureau and to further amend and modify the lVar Risk Insurance Act approved August 9, 1921," including salaries and expenses of the central office at Washington, District of Columbia, and reg10nal offices and suboffices, and including salaries stationery and minor office supplies, furniture, equipment and supplies, rentals and alterations, heat, light, and water, miscellaneous expenses, including telephones, telegrams, freight, express, law books, books of reference, periodicals, ambulance service, towel service, laundry service, repairs to equipment, storage, ice, taxi service, car fare, stamps and box rent, traveling and subsistence, salaries and expenses of employees engaged in field investigation, passenger- V¤hi¤1¤¤- carrying and other motor vehicles, including purchase, maintenance, repairs, and operation of same, salaries and operating expenses Ar1i¤e¢¤¤ B¤ii¤i¤z of the Arlington Building and annex, including repairs and me- °xp°°S°$' chanical equipment, fuel, electric current, ice, ash removal, and miscellaneous items; and including the salaries and allowances, Htspuaiempioyees. where applicable, wages, travel and subsistence of civil employees at the United States veterans’ hospitals, supply depots, dispensaries, clinics, and vocational schools, $49,984,063; Provided, That §{,‘;’{~*,3g damned on or before the fifteenth da of each month when Congress is in statement to Congress session, the Director of the V1eterans’ Bureau shall transmit to the °f°mpl°y°°s’°t°' - President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Repre- . sentatives a statement giving in detail (a) the total number of positions at a rate of $2,000 or more per annum, (b) the rate of salary attached to each position, (c) the number of positions at each rate in the central office and in each district office or suboffice, and (dg a brief statement of the duties of each position. · mmm, to Pubuc uch portion of this appropriation as may be necessary shall be He¤1rhServi¤¤d¤tai¤· allotted from time to time by the United States Veterans’ Bureau to the Public Health Service and shall be available for expenditure by the Public Health Service for necessary personnel the peg and allowances, and travel of commissioned officers of the Public ealth Service detailed to the United States Veterans’ Bureau for duty.
