(a) There is hereby established a commission to be _ H°m°S known as the “Hawaiian Homes Commission" and to be composed of C<>mp¤siri<>¤· five members, as follows: . (1) The governor of the Territory, and G°"°"‘°'· (2) Four citizens of the Territory to be appointed by the governor, Shfi}’P°*““’°m°mb°" by and with the advice and consent of the senate of the legislature ` o the Territory. At least three of the appointed members of the '1"“°°*° b° “°“‘”°$·· commission shall be native Hawaiians. (b) Ang vacancy in the office of an appointed member shall be ming "*‘°““°*°’·· filled in the same manner and under the same limitations as the original appointment. (c) The governor of the Territory shall be the chairman of the °'8°¤”°“°“- commission. The commission shall designate one of its members to serve as the executive officer and secretary of the commission. The S“1°"°s‘ executive officer and secretary shall receive such annual salary, not to exceed $6,000, as the commission may determine. The members of the commission, except the executive officer and secretary, shall _ receive an annual salary of $500. Of the original appointed members ,,,§`,§’,,’§,?,f" °”°*““"° of the commission, one shall be appointed for a term of one Tyear, one for two years, one for three years, and one for four years. heir successors shall hold office for terms of four years, except that any member appointed to fill a vacancy shall be appointed only for the unexpired term of the member whom he succeeds.
