psdzécmpiigq $1 hit of the Treasmy be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to redeem ff§?°”°°' °"°°°b°°°` United States Treasury certificates of mdebtedness numbered 18462, 18463, 18464, and 18465, each 111 the denomination of $1,000, series TM4-1920, dated February 2, 1920, and maturing March 15, 1920, with interest at the rate of 4~}fper centum per annum from February 2, 1920, to March 15, 1920, in avor of the American Trust Company, of Charlotte, North Carolina, or its assigns, without presentation of the said certificates, the certincates of indebtedness having been lost, 4%*% stolen, or destroyed: Promkled, That the said certificates o indebtedness shall not have been previously presented for payment and that no pa ent shall be made hereunder for any coupons. which shall ,,,L,_"““"Yb“‘°*°°° have be-dn previously presented and pa1d: And provzded further, That the said American Trust Company, of Charlotte, North Carolina, shall first Hle in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amoimt of the ost, stolen, or destroyed Treasury certidcates of indebtednem and the interest payable thereon m suc form and with such surety or sureties as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the lost, stolen, or destroyed certificates of indebtedness herein described.
