Be it enacted by the Senate and H euse of Representatives of the _ _ United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent ¥i$iS°gii§a§§Y°rL8_, of Congress is hereby granted to the city of New Orleans, a mimic- m°Y*"*d¤°· ipal corporation existing under the laws of the State of Louisiana, its successors and assigns, through its Public Belt Railroad Commission, as authorized by the constitution of the State of Louisiana, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto Lmuon across the Mississippi River, at a point suitable to the interests of ` navigation, near and above the said city, in accordance with the pro- Cvustructicn. visions of an Act entitled "An Act to revulate the construction of V°l'34'°`84‘ bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906. Sec. 2. That this Act shall be null and void unless the construction '1`*m°°'°°¤S**¤°*i¤¤· of said bridge is commenced within two years and completed within five years from the date of approval hereof.
