Nelson shall hereafter be held and considered to have been a captain in the First Regiment Middle Tennessee Volunteer Infantry, also known as the Tenth Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Infantry, from the 8th day of June, 1862 to the 25th day of July, 1862, and to have been discharged honorably as such on the latter date, and shall be held and considered to have been a private in Com any H, Fifth Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry, from the 25th day of July, 1862, to the 6th day of August, 1863, and to have been discharged honorably as such on the latter date by reason of promotion to lieu- _ tenant in said regiment: Provided, That no pension, pay, or allow- §C,°'{,';`,%,,,,,,,,,,,_,,,,t,, ance shall be hel to have accrued prior to the passage of this Act.
