INTERNATIONAL MAP OF THE WORLD For the share of the United States of the expenses of the central bureau of the international map of the world for the calendar year 1929, $30. JUDI CIAL UNITED STATES COURT FOR CHINA For salaries of the judge, district attorney, and other officers and employ ees of the c ourt ; court expens es, including reference law books, ice, and drinking water for office purposes, $41,650. PRI SONS FOR AME RICA N CO NVIC TS For expenses of maintaining in China, the former Ottoman Empire , Egyp t, Eth iopia , Moro cco, a nd Per sia i nstitu tions for incarcerating American convicts and persons declared insane by the United State s Cour t for China or an y cons ular court ; wages of prison keepers ; rent of quarters for prisons ; ice and drinking water for prison purposes ; and for the expenses of keeping, feeding, and transportation of prisoners and persons declared insane by the United States Court for Chi na or any con sular court in China, the former Ottoman Empire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Persia, so much as may be necessary ; in all, $9,600. BRINGING HO ME CRIMINALS For actual expenses incurred in bringing home from foreign countries persons charged with crime, $6,000. Section 3709 of the Revised Statutes (U. S . C., p . 1309, sec . 5) shah not apply to any purchase or service rendered payable from the foregoing appropriations when the aggregate amount involved does not exceed $100 or when the purchase or service relates to the packing of personal and household effects of Diplomatic, Consular, and For- eign Service officers and clerks for foreign shipment . No portion of the sums appropriated in Title I of this Act shall, unless express ly authorized , be expended for rent in t he District of Columbia or elsewhere in the United States .
