[Publi c, No. 39 9 .] Be it enacted b y the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That so much of the A ct of Febr uary 18, 18 96, as p rovides that the chaplain at the United States Military Academy shall, while so serving, receive the same pay and allowances as a captain, mounted, is hereby amended to read as follows : " The chaplain at the United States Military Academy shall, while so serving, receive a salary of $4,000 per annum and be entitled to the same allowances with respect to public quarters, fuel, and light as those allowed to a captain ."
