[Public, No . 428 .] Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the consent Tenne ssee Rive r . Ken tu cky may of Congress is hereby granted to the State highway commission, bridge, at mouth of Common wealth of Ke ntuck y, to constr uct, m ainta in, and operate Clarke River . a bridge and a pproaches the reto across t he Tennessee R iver, ata point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near where Clarks River empties into the Tennessee River, in accordance with the Construction . Vol.34, p.84 . provisions of an Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction Post, p . 1524. of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this Act . SEC . 2 . If tolls are charged for the use of such bridge, the rates Rates of tolls applied to operation, sinking of toll shall be so adjusted as to provide a fund sufficient to pay fund, etc. the reasonable cost of main taining, repa iring, and ope rating the bridg e and its ap proac hes un der ec onomic al ma nageme nt, and to provide a sinking fund sufficient to amortize the cost of the bridge and its approaches, including reasonable interest and financing cost, as soon as possible under reasonable charges, but within a period of not to ex ceed twenty y ears from the completion th ereof . bridge, etc ., a fter auro r- a sinking fund sufficient for such amortization shall have been so tilin g costs . provided, such bridge shall thereafter be maintained and operated free of tolls, or the rates of toll shall thereafter be so adjusted as to provide a fund of not to exceed the amount necessary for the proper maintenance, repair, and operation of the bridge and its approaches under economical management . An accurate record of tu Re aa rof xpendi, the costs of the bridge and its approaches, the expenditures for maintaining, repairing, and operating the same, and of the dai ly tolls collected, shall be kept and shall be available for the informa- tion o f all p ersons intere sted . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representativ es of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the consent Cumberland River. Kent ucky may of Congress is hereby granted to the State highway commission, bridge, at Canton. Commonwealth of Kentucky, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Cumberland River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near the town of Canton, Kentucky, in accordance with the provisions of an Act Construct ion . 84. entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navi- Po l.P.iOl gable waters," approved March 23, 1906, and subject to the condi- tions and limitations contained in this Act .
