Whereas the exchange between the United States and the State of Kaniksu National , .. Forest, Idaho and Idaho, authoTIzed by prOclftmatlOns of March 3, 1913, and June 4, W~~. 37 1777' V I. 1924, affecting the Kaniksu National Forest, in Idaho, has been .a,~.·lIj53.P. ,0 consummated; and Whereas, it appears that the public good will be promoted bv excluding the areas selected by the Stat.e of Idaho under such exchange wi'i,h other lands from t.he Kaniksu National Forest, in Idaho, and restoring the public lands subject to disposition therein to entry by ex-service men in advance of the general pUblic in accordance ",ith existing law; and Whereas it appears that certain lands immediately heretofore forming alart of the Kaniksu National Forest in Idaho, should be transferre to and made a part of the Pend Oreille National Forest, in Idaho; Now, therefore, I, CALVIN COOLIDGE, President of the United ftJ~undar1es modi- States of America, by virtue of the power in me vested by the act of Congress approved June fourth, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven (30 Stat., 11 at 34 and 36), ent.itled "An Act Making appropriations for sundry civil expenses of the Government for the fiscal year ending June thirtiet.h, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and for other pur- poses", do proclaim that the boundaries of the Kaniksu National Forest are hereby changed and that they are now as shown on the diagram hereto annexed and forming a part hereof; and that this proclamation and that changing the boundaries of the Pend OreilIe Post, p . 2912. National Forest, which I have also signed this same day, are made and are intended to be and shall be considered as one act to become effective simultaneously. And I do further proclaim and make known that pursuant to o~n~~lfode~~ri~oTarmstroBot (talk) Public Resolution No 29 of February fourteenth nineteen hundred days to ex-service men '. , of World War. and twenty (41 Stat., 434), as amended January twenty-first and Vol. 41, p. 434; Vol. December twenty-eighth, nineteen hundred and tw:enty-two (42 Stat., 42, pp . 358, 1067 . 358, 1067), it is hereby ordered that the public lands ill the excluded areas, subject to valid rights, shall be opened only to entry under the homestead and desert-land laws by qualified ex-service men of the war with Germany, under the terms and condition"! of said resolutions and the regulations issued thereunder, for a period of 91 days, beginning with the 63rd day from and after the date hereof, and thereafter, any of said lands remaining unentered will be sub- o~~:J't~o"dsettl:!!: ject to appropriation under any public land law applicable thereto thereafter. by the general public.
