839 July 1, 1930. CHAP. 781 .-An Act To authorize the acquisition for military purposes of [H . R . 7638.1 land in the county of Montgomery, State of Alabama, for use as an addition to (Public, No. 487 .) Maxwell Field . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That a sum, not to s mautlorizeSAfr exceed $200,000 is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any purchase fo, of additional money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purchase Ante, p . 275. of land in the vicinity of and for use in connection with the present Past, p . 109. military reservation at Maxwell Field, Alabama, and the Secretary of War is hereby authorized to make said purchase : Provided, That P rov iso .n. no part of the amount authorized to be appropriated shall be expended until it has been determined to the satisfaction of the Post, p. 1467 . S ecretary o f War that acquisiti on of all additional land requ ired at Maxwell Field for the proper and necessary accommodation of the Air Corps Tactical School and one Air Corps observation squadron c an be accom plish ed by purc hase o r don ation with out ex ceedi ng expenditure by the Federal Government of the amount of such authorization . C ode, Suppl ement III, title 22, section 2 17a), is a mended to read as follows " SEC . 2 .
