SE TTL EM ENT OF CLAIMS AND SUI TS For the payment of claims approved by the commissioners and reported to the Seventy-first Congress in House Document Num- bered 406, u nder and in a ccordance wit h the provisio ns of the Act entitled "An Act authoriz ing the Commi ssioners of th e District of Columbia to settle claims and suits against the District of Colum- bia," approved February 11, 1929 (45 Sta t ., p . 1 160), $98,242 ,09 . DIVISION OF EXPENSES The foregoing sums for the District of Columbia, unless other- wise therein specifically provided, shall be paid as follows : Such sums as relate to the fiscal year 1920 and prior fiscal years, 50 per centum out of the revenues of the Distri ct of Columbia and 50 per centum out of the Treasury of the United States ; such sums as relate to the fiscal years 1921 to 1924, inclusive, 60 per centum out of the revenues of th e District of Columbia and 40 per centum out of the Treas ury of the U nited State s ; and such sums as relate to the fiscal years 1925 to 1931, inclusive, jointly or severally, shal l be paid out of the revenues of the District of Columbia and the Treas- ury of the Uni ted States in the manner p rescribed by t he District of Columbia Appropriation Acts for such respective fiscal years . DEPARTM ENT OF AGRICU LTURE EXTENSION SERVICE Cooperative agricultural extension work : For additional coopera- tive agricultural extension work, including employment of specialists in economics and marketing to be allotted and paid by the Secretary of Agriculture to the several States and the Territory of Hawaii in such amoun ts as he may deem neces sary t o acco mplis h such purpo ses, fiscal year 1931, $1,000,000 : Provided, That no expenditures shall be made 4hereunder until a sum or sums at least equal to such expendi- tures shall have been appropriated, subscribed, or contributed by State, county, or local authorities or by individuals or organizations for the accomplishment of such purpose . FOREST SERVICE The unexpended balance of the appropriation of $35,000, contained in the first deficiency Act, fiscal year 1930, approved March 26, 1930, for carrying into effect the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to authorize t he improvemen t of the Oreg on Caves, in t he Siskiyou National Fores ts," approved February 28, 1929 (45 Stat ., p . 1 4 07 ), is hereby continued available for the same purposes until June 30, 1931 .
