IN TERNATIONAL BOUNDARY C OMMISSION, UNITED STA TES AND CAN ADA AND ALASXA AND CANADA To enable the President to perform the obligations of the United States under the treaty between the United States and Great Britain in respect of Canada, signed February 24, 1925 ; for salaries and expenses, including the salary of the commissioner and salaries of the necessary engineers, clerks, and other employees for duty at the seat of government and in the field ; cost of office equipment and supplies ; ne ces sary tr avel ing exp ense s ; c ommutati on of su bsistenc e to employees while on field duty, not to exceed $4 per day each ; for payment for tiuiber necessarily cut in keeping the boundary line clear, not to exceed $500 ; and for all other necessary and reason- able expenses incurred by the United States in maintaining an effec- tive demarcation of the international boundary line between the United States and Canada and Alaska and Canada under the terms of the treaty aforesaid, including the completion of such remaining work as may be required under the award of the Alaskan Boundary Tribunal and existing treaties between the United States and Great Britain, to be disbursed under the direction of the Secretary of State, $40,000 . JOINT COMMISSION, UNITED STATES AND GREAT BRITAIN For salaries and expenses, including salaries of commissioners and salaries of clerks and other employees appointed by the com- missi oners on the part of the Un ited State s, wit h the approval solely of the Secretary of State ; for necessary traveling expenses, and for expenses incident to holding hearings and conferences at such pl aces in Canada a nd in th e United States as shall be dete r- mined by the commission or by th e Ame rican commi ssion ers t o be necessary, including travel expense and compensation of necessary witnesses, making necessary transcript of testimony and proceed- ings ; for cost of law book4, books of reference and periodicals, office equipment and supplies ; and for one-half of _ all reasonable and necessary joint expenses of the International J oint Com miss ion incurred under the terms of the treaty between the United States and Great Britain concerning the use of boundary waters between the United States and Canada, and for other purposes, signed January 11, 1909, $30,400, to be disbursed under the direction of the Secre- tary of State : Pro vid ed, That traveling expenses of the commis- sioners, secretary, and necessary employees shall be allowed in accord- an ce With the provisions of the Subsistence Expense Act of 1926 . as amended (U.
