Marshall, of Ruleville, MissilSsippi, which said sum was paid by him on May 12, 1930, to the Umted States marshal, and which sum was covered into the United States Treasury on June 26,1930, by reason of the forfeiture of the appeaI"ance bond of Ben Davis, alias Jack A vent, charged with the violation of the national prohibition Act, on which appearance bond the said A. L . Marshall was a surety, and the said A. L. Marshall having sub- sequently, on the 9th day of February,1931, brought the Raid Ben Davis, alias Jack A vent, into open court, wherenpon, he, the said Ben Davis, alias Jack Avent, entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to serve a term of 3ix months in the jail of Coahoma County, Mississippi, by the Delta Division of the Northern District of the United States District Court of the State of Mississippi.
