, to Commissioners of the District of Columbia be, and they are hereby, authorized to close, vacate, and abandon for highway and alley pur- De sign ated parcel poses the area contained in parcel designated "A", as shown on map S ansferred to united filed in the office of the surveyor of the District of Columbia and numbered as map 1817, and to transfer said area so closed, vacated, and abandoned to the United States to be under the jurisdiction of the Director of National Parks, Buildings, and Reservations for park purposes . Sec. 2. That the Commissioners of the District of Columbia are Federal property in authorized to use for street and alley purposes the area comprised exce~ge ' for street and within the parcels designated " B ", as shown on map filed in the office of the Surveyor of the District of Columbia and numbered as map 1817 ; and the Director of National Parks, Buildings, and Reserva- tions is authorized to make the necessary transfer of said land to the District of Columbia, same to be under the jurisdiction of the said Commissioners for street and alley purposes . SEc . 3 . That upon the dedication by the lawful owner or owners of izxchan h p author- ed the land contained in the parcel designated " C " and the transfer by owners, plat as provided herein and/or the conveyance by deed of the land contained in the parcel designated "D", in accor dance with m ap showing said parcels filed in the office of the surveyor of the District of Columbia, numbered as map 1817 the said parcel "C"tobededi- cated to the District of Columbia for street purposes and the said par cel " D " transferred by plat and/or conveyed by deed to the Unit ed Stat es, to be und er the jurisd iction of the Direct or of N ational Park s, Bui ldings , and Reser vation s, the n the said Direct or of National Parks, Buildings, and Reservations, with the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, acting for and in behalf of the United States of America, is authorized and directed to transfer by plat as provided herein and/or convey by deed all the land comprised in the parcel designated " E " as shown on said map filed in the office of the surveyor of the District of Columbia and numbered as map 1817, said transfer and/or conveyance to be made to the owner or owners making the transfer and/or conveyance of said parcel designated " D " to the United States, such transfers and/or deeds of conveyance to pass title in fee simple to the said land, and any and all of such transfers when duly executed and consummated shall constitute legal conve yances of the parcel s herei n desc ribed t o the p arties in int erest Provided, however, That good and sufficient title, satisfactory to the Provisos. Comm ission ers of the Distri ct of Columb ia an d the Direct or of National Parks, Buildings, and Reservations shall be given with respect to the land contained in said parcels "C"and"D" re sp ec- tively : And provided further, That upon the transfer by plat and/or Ses Lsm nt,e tcect to as. the conveyance by deed of the said parcel designated "E",aspro- vided herein, the land contained in said parcel shall be subject to assessment and taxation the same in all respects as other private prop erty in the Dist rict of Colu mbia .
