To authorize the Secretary of War to lend to the housing committee of the [a .R.9092.] United Confederate Veterans two hundred and fifty pyramidal tents, complete ; [Public, No . 252.] fifteen 16- by 80- by 40-foot assembly tents ; thirty 11- by 50- by 15-foot hospital-ward tents ; ten thousand blankets, olive drab, numbered 4 ; five thousand canvas cots ; twenty field ranges, numbered 1 ; ten field bake ovens, to be use d at the encamp ment of the Unit ed Confederate Ve terans, to be held at Chattanooga, Tennessee, in June 1934 . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary C onfe derat e ve ter- of War be, and he is hereby, authorized to lend, at his discretion, to Chattanoga,, encampment, the housing committee of the United Confederate Veterans, whose to Loan of tents, etc., encampment is to be held at Chattanooga, Tennessee, June 6, 7, and 8, 1934, two hundred and fifty pyramidal tents, complete with all poles, pegs, and other equipment necessary for their erection ; fifteen 16- by 80- by 40-foot assembly tents, complete with all their poles, pegs, and eq uipme nt ne cessar y for their erec tion ; thirty 11- by 50- by 15-foot hospital-ward tents, complete with all their poles, pegs, and equipment necessary for their erection ; twenty field ranges, num- bered 1, with necessary equipment for their erection ; ten field bake ove ns wi th necessary equipment for their erection ; ten thousand blankets, oli ve dr ab, numbered 4; five thousand canvas cots ; ten officers' tents complete with all their poles, pegs, and equipment necessary for their erection ; nine hundred mess kits, complete ; six litters ; twenty tent flys with poles for wall tents ; and thirty garbage cans : Provided, That no expense shall be caused the United States Provisos. Govern ment by th e deli very and re turn of said property, the same No Fede ral e xpen se. to be delivered from the nearest quartermaster depot at such time prior to the holding of said encampment as may be agreed upon by the Secretary of War and the chairman of the said housing com- mittee, Mr . Maurice C. Poss : Provided further, That the Secretary Bond required : of War, before delivery of such property, shall take from said Mau- rice C. Poss, chairman of the housing committee of the annual Con- federate reunion, a good and sufficient bond for the safe return of sa id property in good order and condition and the whole without expense to the United States .
