To amend the Act entitled "An Act to provide additional pay for personnel of the pry United States Navy assigned to duty on submarines and to diving duty", to [Public, No. 415 .1 include officers assigned to duty at submarine training tanks and diving units, and for other purposes . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Stat es o f Ameri ca in Congr ess as semble d, That the Act en- Navy . titled "An Act to provide additional pay for personnel of the United ing u, atine and dlv- States Navy assigned to duty on submarines and to diving duty" (45 St at. 412; U. S. C., Supp. VIII title 34, sec. 886) is hereby amended Vol11 pp41 ss7 . by inserting after the words submarine of the Navy in line 3of said Act the words "including submarines under construction for the Navy from the time builders' trials commence, or on duty at sub- marine escape trai ning tanks, the Navy Deep Sea Diving Sch ool, or the Naval Experim ental Diving Unit", and by ins erting after the words "submarine of the Navy" in lines 6 and 7 of said Act the words "including submarines under construction for the Navy from the time builders' trials commence", so th at the said Act as amended will read as follows : "That hereafter all officers of the Navy on duty on visions Additional pay pr o- board a submarine of the Navy, including submarines under con- struction for the Navy from the time builders' trials commence, or on duty at submarine escape training tanks, the Navy Deep Sea Diving School, or the Naval Experimental Diving Unit, shall, while so serv- ing, receive 25 per centum additional of the pay for their rank and service as now provided by law; and an enlisted man of the United States Navy assigned to duty aboard a submarine of the Navy, in- cluding submarines under construction for the Na vy fr om the time builders' trials commence, or to the duty of diving, shall, in lieu of th e add itiona l pay now au thori zed, r eceive pay, under such regula - tions as may be prescribed by the Secretary of the Navy, at the rate of not less than $5 per month and not exceeding $30 per month, in a ddi tion to the pay and all owa nces of his rating and ser vice Provided, That divers employed in actual salvage operations in Ueep0diving pay; depths of over ninety feet shall, in addition to the foregoing, receive salvage operations . the sum of $5 per hour for each hour or fraction thereof so employed .
