For continuing operation and maintenance and betterment of the irrigation system to irrigate allotted lands of the Uncompahgre, Uintah, and White River Utes in Utah, authorized under the Act of June 21, 1906 (34 Stat ., p . 375), $25,000, reimbursable, together with $30, 000 from which amount expendit ures shall not exceed the agg re- gate receipts covered into the Treasury in accordance with section 4 of the Permanent Appropriation Repeal Act, 1934 . For ope ration and ma intena nce of the Wa pato i rrigat ion and drai nage system, an d auxiliary uni ts thereof, Ya kima Indian Res er- vation, Washington, $1,000, reimbursable, together with $135,500 from which amount expenditures shall not exceed the aggregate receipts covered into the Treasury in accordance with section 4 of the Permanent Appropriation Repeal Act, 1934 . For reimbursement to the reclamation fund the proportionate expense of operation and maintenance of the reservoirs for furnish- ing stor ed water to the lands in Yaki ma Indian Reser vation, Wash- ington, in accordance with the provisions of section 22 of the Act of August 1, 1914 (38 Stat ., p . 604), $10,000 . For the extension of canals and laterals on the ceded portion of the Wind River Rese rvation, Wyomin g, to provide for the irrigat ion of additional Indian lands, and for the Indians' pro rata share of the cost of the operation and maintenance of canals and laterals and for the Indians' pro rata share of the cost of the Big Bend drainage project on the ceded portion of that reservation, and for continuing the work of constructing an irrigation system within the diminished reservation, including the Big Wind River and Dry Creek Canals, and including the maintenance and operation of completed canals, $28,000, reimbursable, together with $15,000 from which amount Reimb ursable . expenditures shall not exceed the aggregate receipts covered into the Treasury in accordance with section 4 of the Permane nt Appropria- tion Repeal Act, 1934 . EDUCATION For the support of Indian schools not otherwise provided for, and other educational and industrial purposes in connection there- with, including educational facilities authorized by treaty provi- sions, care of children of school age attending private schools and tuition for Indian pupils attending public schools, $4,609,145 : Pro- vided, That not to exceed $15,000 of this appropriation may be used for the support and education of deaf and dumb or blind, physically hand icapped, or men tally deficient Indian childr en : Pr ov id ed f ur - ther, That $4,500 of this appropriation may be used for the edu- cation and civilization of the Alabama and Coushatta Indians in Texa s : Provided further, That not more tha n $1 5,00 0 of the amo unt herein appropriated may be expended for the tuition (which may be paid in advance) of Indian pupils attending vocational or higher educatio nal institution s, under such rules and regul ations as the Secretary of the Interior may prescribe, but formal contracts shall not be required, for compliance with section 3744 of the Revised Statutes (U . S . C ., title 41, sec . 16), for payment of tuition of Indian pupils attending public schools, higher educational institutions, or schools for the deaf and dumb, blind, physically handicapped, or mentally deficient .
