The loan of the said ensigns, flags, signal nu mbers, and so f orth, t o said c hairman shall n ot take place p rior to the 11th day of September and shall be returned by him by the 16th of October 1936 . Bon d required . SEC . 4. That for the protection and return of said ensigns, flags, sign al numb ers, and so for th, the said ch airman, or his success or in office, shall execute and deliver to the President of the United States, or to such officer as he may designate, a satisfactory bond in the penalty of $50,000, to secure just payment for any loss or damage to said ensigns, flags, and signal numbers not necessarily incident to the use specified . That the Superintendent of National Capital Parks, subject »tPost, p. 1496. to the approval of the Director of National Park Service, is hereby authorized to grant permits to the citizens' executive committee for the entertainment of the Grand Army of the Republic for the use of any reservation or other public spaces in the city of Washington on the occasion of the seventieth national encampment, in the month of Se ptemb er 1 936, whic h, in his opin ion, will inf lict no s eriou s or per- manent injuries upon such reservations or public spaces, or statuary t he re i n ; and the Commissioners of the D istrict of Columbia ma y designate for such and other purposes on the occasion aforesaid such streets, avenues, and sidewalks in the said city of Washington as they Provisos.

vided further, That any such buildings, parks, reservations, and other public spaces which shall be used or occupied by the erection of stands or other structures, or otherwise, shall be promptly restored Indemnity bond. to their condition before such occupancy, and the said citizens exec- utive committee shall execute and deliver to the Commissioners of the District of Columbia a satisfactory bond with a penalty of $10,000 to secure such prompt restoration and to indemnify the District of Columbia for all damage of any kind whatsoever sustained by reason of any such use or occupancy . That the Secretary of War is hereby authorized to loan to and appliances. the chairman of the medical department of the seventieth national encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, or his successor in said office, for the purpose of caring for the sick, injured, and in firm on the occasion of the encampment of the Grand Army of the Repub- lic in the month of September 1936, such hospital tents and camp appliances and other necessaries, hospital furniture, and utensils of all desc ript ions, amb ulanc es, drive rs, stret chers , at tenda nts, and Red Cross flags and poles belonging to the Government of the United States as in his judgment may be spared and are not in use by the Provi so .
