House Office Buildings : For maintenance, including equipment, miscellaneous items, and for all necessary services, $351,370 . Capitol power plant : For lighting, heating, and power for the Capitol, Senate and House Office Buildings, Supreme Court Build- ing, Congressional Library Buildings, and the grounds about the same, Botanic Garden, legis lative garage , and folding and storage rooms of the Senate ; for heating the Government Printing Office and Washington City post office and for light and power therefor whenever available ; personal and other services engineering instru- ments, fuel, oil, materials, labor, advertising, and purchase of water- proof wearing apparel in connection with the maintenance and operation of t he heating, l ighting, and power plant, $ 947,870, of which sum $462,250 shall be immediately available . Th e appr opriat ions u nder the co ntrol of th e Arch itect of the Capitol may be expended wit hout referenc e to section 4 of the Act approved June 17, 1910 (U . S . C ., title 41, sec . 7), concerning pur- chases for executive departments . The Government Printing Office and the Washington City post office shall reimburse the Capitol power plant for heat, light, and power whenever any such service is furnished during the fiscal year 1938, and the amounts so reimbursed shall be covered into the Treasury . LIBRARY BUILDING AND GROUNDS Salaries : For chief engineer and all personal services at rates of pay provided by law, $47,920 . Salaries, Sunday opening : For extra services of employees and additional employees under the Architect of the Capitol to provide for the opening of the Library Building on Sundays and on holidays, at rates to be fixed b y such Archit ect, $2 ,139 . For nec essary expend itures for the Library Buil ding and Groun ds und er the jurisd iction of the Architect of the Capitol, including minor improvements, maintenance, repair, equipment, supplies, material, and appurtenances, and personal and other services in con- ne ction with t he mec hanic al and struc tural maint enance of su ch building and grounds, $24,500 : Provided, That the unexpended bal- ance on June 30, 1937, of the portion of the appropriation of $139,900 and o f the reappro priation of $3 0,300 allocat ed for instal lation, replacement, and reconditioning of elevators, contained in the Legis- lative Branch Appropriation Act, 1936, and continued available for the fiscal year 1937, shall continue available for the same purposes until June 30, 1938 . Anne x, Lib rary o f Con gress : T o complete ca rrying out th e pro- visions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for the construction and equipment of an annex to the Library of Congress", approved June 13, 1930 (46 Stat . 583), as amended by the Act approved June 6, 1935 (49 Stat . 326), $2,800,000, to remain available until expended .
