[CHAPTER 534] AN ACT To authorize the atten dance of t he Marine Band at th e National Encampmen t of the Gra nd Army of the Repub lic to be held at Ma dison, Wis consin, Se ptember 5 to 10, inclusive, 193 7 . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is authorized to permit the band of the United States Marine Corps to attend and give concerts at the National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic to be held at Madison, Wisconsin, from Sep- tember 5 to 10, inclusive, 1937 . SEC . 2 . For the purpose of defraying the expenses of such band in atte nding and gi ving c oncert s at s uch enc ampmen t ther e is a uthor- ized to be appropriated the sum of $7,500, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to carry out the provisions of this Act : Provided, That in addition to transportation and Pullman accommodations the leaders and members of the Marine Band be allowed not to exceed $5 per day each for actual living expenses while on the duty, and that the payment of such expenses shall be in addition to the pay and allowances to which they would be entitled while serving at their permanent station . R. 69201 [Puhlic, No . 223] Be it enacted by the Senate and Home o f Representatives o f the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby granted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Middlesex County, and the city of Lowell, Massachusetts, or any two of them, or any one of them, to constr uct, mai ntain, an d operate a, free highway bridge and approaches thereto across the Merrimack River, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near Lowell, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to Merrimack River .
