Restriction where district is in arrears . 75TH CONGRESS, 1ST SESSION-CH . 570-AUGUST 9, 1937 BURE AU OF RE CLAMA TION The following sums are appropriated out of the special fund in the Treasury of the United States created by the Act of June 17, 1902 (U. S . C ., title 43, sees . 391, 411), and therein designated "the reclamation fund", to be available immediately Sal arie s a nd e xpen ses : For the Comm issioner of R eclamation and other personal services in the District of Columbia, $115,000 ; for travel and other necessary expenses, $35,000, including not to exceed $15,000 for printing and binding ; in all, $150,000 ; Administrative provisions and limitations : For all expenditures authorized by the Act of June 17, 1902, and Acts ame ndatory thereof or s upplementary t hereto, known as the recla mation law, an d all other Acts under which expenditures from said fund are authorized, including not to exceed $100,000 for personal services and $15,000 for other expenses in the office of the chief engineer, $20,000 for tele- graph, telephone, and other communication service, $5,000 for photo- graphing and making photographic prints, $41,250 for personal ser v- ices, and $7,500 for other expenses in the field legal offices ; examina- tion of estimates for appropriations in the field ; refunds of over- collections and deposits for other purposes ; not to exceed $15,000 for lithographing, engraving, printing, and binding ; purchase of ice ; purchase of rubber boots for official use by employees ; main- tenance and operation of horse-drawn and motor-propelled passen- g er v eh icl es ; not to exceed $20,000 for p urchase and e xchange of horse-drawn and motor-propelled passenger-carrying vehicles ; pack- in , crating, and transportation (including drayage) of personal e ects of employees upon permanent change of station, under regu- lations to be prescribed by the Secretary of the Interior ; payment of damages caused to the owners of lands or other private property of any kind by reason of the operations of the United States, its officers or employees, in the survey, construction, operation, or maintenance of irrigation works, and which may be compromised by agreement betw een the claima nt and the Se cretary of th e Interior, or such officers as he may designate ; payment for official telephone service in the field hereafter incurred in case of official telephones installed in private houses when authorized under regulations established by t he Secretary of the Interior ; not to exceed $1,000 for expenses, except membership fees, of attendance, when authorized by the Secretary, up on me eting s of techn ical and p rofes siona l soc ietie s req uire d in con- nection with official work of the Bureau ; payment of rewards, when sp ecifi cally auth orize d by the S ecret ary o f the Inte rior, for info rma- tion leading to the apprehension and conviction of persons found guilty of the theft, damage, or destruction of public property : Pro- vided, That the Secretary of the Interior in his administration of the Bureau of Recl amation is au thorized to c ontract for me dical attention and service for employees and to make necessary pay-roll deductions agreed to by the employees therefor : Provided further, That no part of any sum provided for in this Act for operation and maintenance of any project or division of a project by the Bureau of Reclamation shall be used for the irrigation of any lands with in the boundaries of an irrigation district which has contracted with the Bureau of Recl amation and w hich is in ar rears for more than twelve months in the payment of any charges due the United States, and no part of any sum provided for in this Act for such purpose shall be used for the irrigation of any lands which have contract ed with the Bureau of Reclamation and which are in arrears for more than twelve months in the payment of any charges due from said lands to the United States ;
