Members, etc. OFFICIAL REPORTERS OF DEBATES Salaries: Six official reporters of the proceedings and debates of the House at $7,500 each; clerk, $4,000; assistant clerk, $2,000; six expert transcribers at $2,000 each; in all, $63,000. COMMITTEE STENOGRAPHERS Salaries: Four stenographers to committees, at $7,000 each; clerk, $3,360; in all, $31,360. Whenever the words "during the session" occur in the foregoing paragraphs they shall be construed to mean the one hundred and eighty-one days from January 1 to June 30, 1939, both inclusive. CLERK HIRE, MEMBERS AND DELEGATES Clerk hire, etc. For clerk hire necessarily employed by each Member and Delegate, and the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico, in the discharge of his official and representative duties, in accordance with the Act 46 Stat.entitled "An Act to fix the compensation of officers and employees of 24S. t3Cb. the legislative branch of the Government", approved June 20, 1929, $2,190,000. OONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE HOUSE For furniture and materials for repairs of the same, including not to exceed $27,500 for labor, tools, and machinery for furniture repair shops, $41,500. For packing boxes, $2,500. For miscellaneous items, exclusive of salaries unless specifically ordered by the House of Representatives, including reimbursement to the official stenographers to committees for the amounts actually paid out by them for transcribing hearings, and including materials for folding, $96,500, of which $18,000 shall be available immediately. For stenographic reports of hearings of committees other than special and select committees, $30,000, of which amount not to exceed $10,000 shall be available immediately.
