Approved, June 22, 1938. [CHAPTER 566] AN ACT To authorize the addition of certain lands to the Plumas, Tahoe, and Lassen National Forests, California. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen.tatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That within the following-described areas any lands not in Government ownership, which are found by the Secretary of Agriculture to be chiefly valuable for national-forest purposes, may be offered in exchange under the provisions of the Act of March 20, 1922 (Public, Numbered 173; 42 Stat. L . 465), as amended by the Act of February 28, 1925 (Public, Numbered 513), upon notice as therein provided and upon acceptance of title, shall become parts of the said national forests; and any of such described areas in Government ownership, found by the Secre- taries of Agriculture and the Interior to be chiefly valuable for national-forest purposes and not now parts of any national forest, may be added to said national forests as herein provided by proclama- tion of the President, subject to all valid claims and provisions of existing withdrawals: Provided, That any lands received in exchange or purchased under the provisions of this Act shall be open to mineral locations, mineral development, and patent, in accordance with the mining laws of the United States.
