PUBLIC LAWS-CH. 321-JUNE 11, 1940 [CHAPTER 321] AN ACT June 11, 1940 [H. R. 7s81] To establish the Hot Springs division of the Western Judicial District of Arkansas. [Public, No. 596] Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Judicalm Code, United States of America in Congress assembled, That subsections ntep. 109. (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), and (g) of section 71 of the Judicial Code, as amended (U. S. C ., 1934 edition, title 28, sec. 144), are amended to read as follows: Arkansas udicial "SEc. 71 . (a) The State of Arkansas is divided into two districts, to be known as the western and eastern districts of Arkansas. Western district "(b) The western district shall include six divisions constituted Divisions. Texarkana. as follows: The Texarkana division, which shall include the terri- tory embraced on July 1, 1920, in the counties of Sevier, Howard, El Dorado. Little River, Hempstead, Miller, Lafayette, and Nevada; the El Dorado division, which shall include the territory embraced on such date in the counties of Columbia, Ouachita, Union, Ashley, Bradley, Port Smith. and Calhoun; the Fort Smith division, which shall include the terri- tory embraced on such date in the counties of Polk, Scott, Logan, Harrison. Sebastian, Franklin, Crawford, and Johnson; the Harrison division, which shall include the territory embraced on such date in the counties of Baxter, Boone, Carroll Marion, Newton, and Searcy; Fayettevle. the Fayetteville division, which shall include the territory embraced on such date in the counties of Benton, Madison, and Washington; Hot prings. and the Hot Springs division, which shall include the territory embraced on such date in the counties of Pike, Clark, Garland, Hot Spring, and Montgomery. Tcrmsour " (c) Terms of the district court for the Texarkana division shall be held at Texarkana on the second Mondays in May and November; for the El Dorado division, at El Dorado on the third Mondays in April and October; for the Fort Smith division, at Fort Smith on the second Mondays in January and June; for the Harrison division, at Harrison on the first Mondays in April and October; for the Fayetteville division at Fayetteville on the second Mondays in March and October and for the Hot Springs division at Hot Springs on the Acomtodations at third Mondays in March and September: Provided, That suitable Fayetteville and Hot rooms and accommodations for holding court at Fayetteville and Hot sprins. Offces of clerk. "(d) The clerk of the court for the western district shall maintain an office in charge of himself or a deputy at Texarkana, Fort Smith, El Dorado, Harrison, and Hot Springs.
