JOINT RESOLUTION Extending the application of section 6 of the Act entitled "An Act to expedite the strengthening of the national defense", approved July 2, 1940 (54 Stat. 714), to all territories, dependencies, and possessions of the United States, including the Philippine Islands, the Canal Zone, and the District of Columbia. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the provisions of sec- tion 6 of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to expedite the strengthening of the national defense", approved July 2, 1940 (54 Stat. 714), shall be applicable to all territories, dependencies, and possessions of the United States, including the Philippine Islands, the Canal Zone, and the District of Columbia, and the several courts of first instance of the Commonwealth of the Philippine Islands shall have jurisdiction of offenses committed in the Philippine Islands in violation of the provisions of that section or of any proclamation, or of any rule or regulation, issued thereunder. AN ACT To appropriate the proceeds of sales or other dispositions of strategic and critical materials acquired under the Act of June 7, 1939 (53 Stat. 811), in order to prevent depletion of the stocks of such materials available for national-defense purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled, That section 6 of the Act of June 7, 1939 (ch. 190, 53 Stat. 812; U. S. C., Supp. V, title 50, sec. 98e), is amended by adding at the end thereof a sentence as follows: "Any funds heretofore or hereafter received on account of sales or other dispositions of materials under the provisions of this Act shall be deposited to the credit, and be available for expend- iture for the purposes, of any appropriation available at the time of such deposit, for carrying out the provisions of sections 1 to 6, inclusive, of this Act." [CHAPTER 136] AN ACT To extend the time limit for cooperation between the Bureau of Reclamation and the Farm Security Administration in the development of farm units on public lands under Federal reclamation projects. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled, That the Act of August 7, 1939 (Public, Numbered 307, Seventy-sixth Congress, first session), as amended by the Act of June 17, 1940 (Public, Num- bered 636, Seventy-sixth Congress, third session), is hereby further amended by striking out "during the fiscal year 1941", and by insert- ing "during the fiscal year 1942".
