55 STAT.] 77TH CONG. , 1 lT SESS.-CHS. 321, 322--JULY 24, 1941 [CHAPTER 321] AN ACT For the relief of Joseph Petrin, Joseph A. Petrin, Rudolph Petrin, Angus LeBlanc, William J. Demelle, Samuel Fishman, and Hector LaPointe. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $2,639 to Joseph Petrin, Joseph A. Petrin, Rudolph Petrin, and Angus LeBlanc; $1,001 to William J. Denelle; and $1,456 to Samuel Fishman and HIector LaPointe, in full settlement of all their claims against the United States on account of damages and losses sustained by them at the hands of representatives of the United States Government through and by delaying each of them in performing their respective contracts, as subcontractors, with the prime contractor, V. & M. Construction Corporation, under its contract, Tlsa-3223, for the building of the United States Post Office, Sanford, Maine, the United States Court of Claims, in its Numbers 43480, 43481, and 43482, having heretofore made special findings of fact that the persons above named so suffered such damages and losses: Provided, That no part of the amount appro- priated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, July 24, 1941. [CHAPTER 322] AN ACT For the relief of Samuel M. Lipton. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Samuel M. Lipton the sum of $138 for reimbursement in the pay- ment of his salary for the period August 22, 1939, to September 15, 1939, and for annual leave accumulated as of September 15, 1939, while employed by the National Park Service in Zion National Park: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
