Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the District of Columbia Unemployment Compensation Act, approved August 28, 1935, as amended, is further amended to read as follows: In section 3 (c), on the second line, between the words "year" and "on", strike,out the figures "1943" and insert in lieu thereof the figures "1944". The term of office of each member of the senate shall be four years, except that at the general election in Alaska in 1944 one member from each division, other than a member elected to fill the unexpired term of a senator previously elected, shall be elected for a term of two years.
