R . 6401] [Public Law 714] AN ACT To amend section 7 of the Act entitled "An Act to incorporate the American War Mothers", approved February 24, 1925 (43 Stat. 966; title 36, sec. 97, U. S . C ., 1940 edition). Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the American War United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 7 of the Act entitled "An Act to incorporate the American War Mothers", approved February 24, 1925 (43 Stat. 966; title 36, sec. 97, U. S. C ., 1940 edition), be amended to read as follows: Membership. "That the membership of American War Mothers is limited to women, and no woman shall be and become a member of this cor- poration unless she is a citizen of the United States and unless her son or sons or daughter or daughters of her blood served in the Army or Navy of the United States, or in the military or naval service of its allies, in the great World War of 1917-1918, at some time during the period between April 6, 1917, and November 11, 1918, or in the present World War which commenced in the year 1941, and at some time on and after December 7, 1941, and until the termination of said war, having an honorable discharge from such service, or who is still in the service." In the event of failure to register on or before the 31st of December a penalty of $5 will be imposed which shall be paid in the manner provided in section 44 of said Act. Should the licentiate fail to register and pay the penalty imposed, and continue to practice his profession in the District of Columbia, he shall at the end of ten days from said date be considered as practicing without a license and penalized as otherwise provided in this Act. on card. "Upon receipt of the application blank properly executed together with the $2 registration fee the registrant shall be mailed a regis- tration card showing that the registration fee has been paid for the coming calendar year. registered "On or before the 1st day of April each year, the said Commission shall cause to be printed and mailed to each person who shall have registered in accordance with the provisions of this section a list of the names of all such registered persons." of ex.
