1370 Entry into foroe. 3. The present Convention shall come into force three months after the deposit of not less than five ratifications with the Pan Ameri- can Union. 4. Any ratification received after the date of the entry into force of the Convention, shall take effect three months after the date of its deposit with the Pan American Union. ARTICLE XII Denunciation. Notification by Pan American Union. 1. Any Contracting Govern- ment may at any time denounce the present Convention by a noti- fication in writing addressed to the Pan American Union. Such denunciation shall take effect one year after the date of the receipt of the notification by the Pan American Union, provided, how- ever, that no denunciation shall take effect until the expiration of five years from the date of the entry into force of this Con- vention. 2. If, as the result of simul- taneous or successive denuncia- tions, the number of Contracting Governmnets is reduced to less than three, the Convention shall cease to he in force from the date on which the last of such denunci- ations takes effect in accordance with the provisions of the pre- ceding Paragraph. 3. The Pan American Union shall notify all of the American Governments of any denuncia- tions and the date on which they take effect. 4. Should the Convention cease to be in force under the provisions of Paragraph 2 of this article, the Pan American Union shall notify all of the American Governments, indicating the date on whivch this will become effective. 3. ARTfCULO XII 1. Cualquiera de los Gobiernos Contratantes podra denunciar la presente Convenci6n en todo mo- mento dando aviso por escrito a la Uni6n Panamericana. La denun- cia tendra efecto un afio despues del recibo de la notificaci6n res- pectiva por la Uni6n Panameri- cana. Ninguna denuncia, sin em- bargo, surtirA efecto sino cinco afios despues de entrar en vigor la presente Convenci6n. 2. Si como resultado de de- nuncias simultaneas o sucesivas el numiero de Gobiernos Contra- tantes se reduce a mcnos de tres, la Convenci6n dejarA de tenor efecto desde la fccha en que, de acuerdo con las disposiciones del Parrafo precedente, la dltima de dichas denuncias tenga efecto. 3. La Uni6n Panamericana noti- ficara a todos los Gobiernos Ameri- canos las denuncias y las fechas en que comiencen a tener efecto. 4. Si la Convenci6n dejara de tener vigencia seg-in lo dispuesto en el Parrafo segundo del presente articulo, la Uni6n Panamericana notificara a todos los Gobiernos Americanos la fecha en que la misma cese en sus efectos.
