Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to E. M. Conroy, Fort Myers, Florida, the sum of $200. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said E. M. Conroy against the United States on account of personal injuries sustained by him as a result of a collision at Safford, Arizona, on August 1, 1938, involving his automobile and a truck of the Forest Service of the Department of Agriculture: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved, June 5, 1942. [CHAPTER 367] AN ACT For the relief of the San Diego Gas and Electric Company. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated r to the San Diego Gas and Electric Company, San Diego, California, the sum of $1,027.52. Such sum represents the actual expenses incurred by such company in the repair of damage to a high tension transmission line crossing Lake Hodges, San Diego County, California, which was struck on November 15, 1940, by a United States Navy airplane. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of such company against the United States on account of such accident: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the con- trary notwithstanding.
