Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved December 3, 1943. [CHAPTER 338] AN ACT For the relief of Gerald G. Woods. December 3, 1943 [S. 1008] [Private Law 142] Gerald G. Woods. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Gerald G. Woods, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the sum of $71.90, in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for reimbursement for expendi- tures made by him as commander of flotilla numbered 301, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, for rations for members of such aux- iliary engaged in operating a Coast Guard patrol boat: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Finley, of Sumter, South Carolina, the sum of $500, in full satisfaction of his claims against the United States for compensation for personal injuries sustained by him when he was struck by a Government-owned truck operated by a civilian employee of the Army Air Corps at Shaw Field, South Carolina, on September 15, 1942, and for reim- bursement of medical and hospital expenses incurred by him as a result of such injuries: Provided, That no part of the amount appro- priated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
