AN ACT To grant the consent of Congress to a compact entered into by the States of South Dakota and Wyoming relating to the waters of the Belle Fourche River Basin, to make provisions concerning the exercise of Federal jurisdiction as to those waters, to promote the most efficient use of those waters, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby given to a compact authorized by the Act entitled "An Act granting the consent of Congress to compacts or agreements between the States of South Dakota and Wyoming with respect to the division and apportionment of the waters of the Belle Fourche and Cheyenne Rivers and other streams in which such States are jointly interested", approved February 26, 1927 (44 Stat. 1247), signed by commissioners for the States of South Dakota and Wyoming, on the 18th day of February 1943 and thereafter ratified by the act of the Legislature of South Dakota entitled "An act ratifying and approving a compact between the States of Wyoming and South Dakota for use of the waters of the Belle Fourche River, and declaring an emergency", approved March 4, 1943 and the act of the Legislature of Wyoming entitled "An act to provide for the ratification and approval of the Belle Fourche River Compact", approved March 3, 1943, which compact reads as follows: BELLa FOURCiE RIVER COMPACT The States of South Dakota and Wyoming, parties signatory to this compact (hereinafter referred to as South Dakota and Wyoming, respectively, or individually as a State, or collectively as the States), have resolved to conclude a compact as authorized under the Act of Congress of February 26, 1927, Chapter 216, 44 Stat. 1247, and, after [58 STAT.
