Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved July 2, 1945. [CHAPTER 256] AN ACT For the relief of the Tobey Hospital. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the Tobey Hospital, Wareham, Massachusetts, the sum of $427.25. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Tobey Hos- pital against the United States for services rendered, and supplies furnished to members of the United States Army stationed at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts, who were injured in two automobile acci- dents, the first of which occurred on April 25, 1941, and the second on December 7, 1941: Provided, That no part of the amount appro- priated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $5,000 to the estate of Herschel Adams, deceased, and the sum of $3,000 to Pleas Baker, of Gallatin, Tennessee, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for the death of Herschel Adams, and personal injuries, medical and hospital expenses incurred by Mr. Baker as the result of an accident involving an Army vehicle on February 9, 1944, in Gallatin, Tennessee: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
