Haley, for P . . . _ _ ayment for apprehending, and surrendering for trial, two slaves charged with having arresting mail mbbed the United States mail, in eighteen hundred and twenty-seven; one ’°bb“‘“· of whom was convicted before the district court of the United States in Mississippi, and sentenced to hard labor, and the other broke jail before trial, and escaped; and the Treasurer of the United States is directed, on the presentation of said warrant, to pay said sum of four hundred dollars, out of the moneys paid into the treasury for the service of the Post Office Department. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Postmaster General H. ascertain the reasonable expenses the said D. W.
