Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the legal guardian of Michael Joseph Bennett, a minor, of Dover, New Hampshire, the sum of $149, in full satisfaction of all claims against the United States for compensation for personal injuries sustained by the said Michael Joseph Bennett when he was accidentally shot by a member of the United States Marine Corps who was searching for escaped naval prisoners, in Dover, New Hampshire on November 24, 1943, and for reimbursement of medical expenses incurred as a result of such injuries: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Be it enacted by the Senate and Bouse of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Wayne Parker, of Port- land, Oregon, the sum of $1,500, in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for compensation for personal injuries sustained by him as a result of having been accidentally shot by a member of the United States naval forces who was acting as an armed guard on a naval vessel, at the Willamette Iron and Steel Corporation, in Port- land, Oregon, on May 7, 1945: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding.
