Pelican Rock, containing an estimated area of about one acre, and situated in the Pacific Ocean in the northern portion of section 33, township 16 north, range 1 west, Humboldt meridian, California, approximately a quarter of a mile north of Whaler Island, shown to be located in latitude forty-one degrees forty-four minutes forty sec- onds north and longitude one hundred and twenty-four degrees eleven minutes ten seconds west, on United States Coast and Geodetic Survey chart entitled Saint George Reef and Crescent City, California, is hereby conveyed to the county of Del Norte, State of California, for the purpose of a public wharf or for such other purposes as it may be of use in the construction, maintenance, and operation of Crescent City Harbor.
