E. considerar este cambio de Notas como el convenio constituido entre nuestros dos Gobiernos, que entrara en vigor en la fecha en que se firme la Pr6rroga del Servicio Cooperativo Peruano Norteamericano de Educaci6n en el Perd, entre el Ministro de Educaci6n Pdblica y el Instituto de Asuntos Inter-Americanos. CHARGE D'AFFAIRES: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency's courteous note no. 1025 dated the 28th of this past month in which, regarding the extension of the Basic Agreement on Education con- cluded between the Government of Peru and the Institute of Inter- American Affairs, you inform me that the Institute would contribute $40,000.00 (U. S . currency) to the Peruvian-North American Co- operative Service, for the activities envisaged in the amended and extended Agreement, and would contribute a sum not to exceed $125,000.00, which would be retained by the Institute for payment of salaries and other personnel expenses of the Education Division of the Institute in Peru. I am pleased to inform Your Excellency that the Ministry of Public Education has advised me that the Government of Peru would be willing to contribute the sum of 1,565,469.08 soles for the implementation of the Agreement. In accordance with the terms of the communication to which I am replying, Your Excellency may consider this exchange of notes as the Agreement concluded between our two Governments, which shall go into effect on the date of the signature of the Extension of the Peruvian- North American Cooperative Educational Service in Peru, between the Minister of Public Education and the Institute of Inter-American Affairs.
