AN ACT To enable the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii to authorize the Board of Supervisors of the City and County of Honolulu to issue certain public improvement bonds.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representative,^ of the Vnited States of America in Congress assembled, That the L e g i s l a t u r e puSu "^"' ^ ' " ' of the T e r r i to r y of H a w a i i, notwithstanding any provision of the ment bonds. H a w a i i a n O r g a n i c Act to the c o n t r a r y, may a u t h o r i z e the B o a r d of st^t^ ^ufs* ^^^' ^^ S u p e r v i s o r s of the C i t y and C o u n t y of H o n o l u l u to issue b o n d s in the 48 USC 678. sum of $1,600,000 for the acquisition, construction, and improvement of p u b l i c p a r k s and p l a y g r o u n d s in the City and C o u n t y of H o n o l u l u. S E C, 2. The b o n d s issued under authority of t h i s Act may be either term or serial bonds, m a t u r i n g, in the case of term bonds, not l a t e r than t h i r t y year s from the date of issue thereof, and, in the case of serial b o n d s, p a y a b l e in s u b s t a n t i a l l y equal annual installments, the first installment to m a t u r e not l a t e r than five year s and the last installment to m a t u r e not less than t h i r t y year s from the date of such issue. S u c h b o n d s may be issued w i t h o u t the a p p r o v a l of the P r e s i d e n t of the United States. SEC. 3. Act 255 of the Session Laws of H a w a i i, 1951, p e r t a i n i n g to the issuance of public improvement b o n d s, as a u t h o r i z e d by t h i s Act, is hereby ratified and confirmed. AN ACT To enable the Legislature of the Territory of Hawaii to authorize the City and County of Honolulu, a municipal corporation of the Territory of Hawaii, to issue bonds for acquisition of real property for public-school purposes and for construction and replacement of buildings for public-school purposes.

O r g a n i c Act, of any laws of the T e r r i to r y of H a w a i i, or of any Act g^3i stj^*- i^i; 42 of t h i s Congress to the c o n t r a r y notwithstanding, may a u t h o r i z e the 48* use 678. C i t y and C o u n t y of H o n o l u l u, a m u n i c i p a l corporation of the T e r r i to r y of H a w a i i, to issue g e n e r a l obligation b o n d s in the sum of $5,000,000 for the purposes of a c q u i r i n g real property for publicschool p u r p o s d s and of c o n s t r u c t i n g and r e p l a c i n g b u i l d i n g s for public-school purposes in the C i t y and C o u n t y of H o n o l u l u. SEC. 2. The b o n d s issued under authority of t h i s Act shall be serial b o n d s m a t u r i n g in s u b s t a n t i a l l y equal installments, the first installment to m a t u r e not l a t e r than five years from the date of the issue of such series, and the last installment not l a t e r than t h i r t y year s from the date of such issue. S u c h b o n d s may be issued w i t h o u t a p p r o v a l of the P r e s i d e n t of the United States. SEC. 3. Act 2'88 of the Session Laws of Hawaii 1951, p e r t a i n i n g to the issuance of school b o n d s, as a u t h o r i z e d by t h i s Act, is h e r e by ratified and confirmed subject to the provisions of t h i s Act.
