sales of Government lands or any interest therein may be made upon the approval of said board for business uses or other undertakings or uses, except those which are primarily agricultural in character^ whenever such sale is deemed to be in the interest of the development of the community or area in which said lands are located, and all such sales shall be limited to the amount actually necessary i o r the economical conduct of such business use or other undertaking or use;", SEC. 2. CHAPTER 617 AN ACT
To amend section 73(i) of the Hawaiian Organic Act. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the first proviso of section 73(i) of the Hawaiian Organic Act is hereby amended to read as follows: '"Provided, however, That lots may be sold for cash without recourse to drawing or lot and forthwith patented to any citizen of the United States applying therefor, possessing the qualifications of a homesteader as now provided by law, and who has qualified for and received a loan under the provisions of the Bankhead-Jones F a r m Tenant Act (50 Stat. 522, 7 U.S.C. 1946 edition, ch. 33), as amended or as may hereafter be amended, for the acquisition of a farm:". To further amend section 202(a) of the H a w a i i a n Homes Commission Act, 1920, as amended, relating to membership on the H a w a i i a n Homes Commission.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 202(a) of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, 1920, as amended, is further ^ | u*sc 693^,* amended to read as follows: "There is hereby established a commission to be known as the ^ Hawaiian Homes 'Hawaiian Homes Commission' to be composed of seven members, four of whom, including the chairman, shall be residents of the city and county of Honolulu; of the remaining members, one shall be a resident of the county of Hawaii, one a resident of the county of Maui, and one a resident of the county of Kauai. The members shall be appointed by the Governor and may be removed in the manner provided by section 80 of the Hawaiian Organic Act, as amended. All of the 48 USC**546f633. members shall have been residents of the Territory of Hawaii at least three years prior to their appointment and at least four of the members shall be descendants of not less than one-fourth part of the blood of the races inhabiting the Hawaiian Islands prior to 1778." SEC. 2. I n the event that on the date of enactment of this. Act there shall be five members of such Commission who are residents of the city and county of Honolulu, nothing contained in section 1 hereof shall be construed to require the removal of any one of such members, but each may continue to serve as a member of such Commission until the lapse of his respective term of appointment. 93300 O - 53 - 36
