PROCUREMENT AND PRODUCTION, ARMY

For expenses necessary for the procurement, manufacture, and modification of armament, ammunition, equipment, vehicles, vessels, and aircraft for the Army and the Reserve Officers' Training Corps; purchase of passenger motor vehicles; expenses which in the discretion of the Secretary of the Army are necessary in f)roviding facilities for production of equipment and supplies for national defense purposes, including construction, and the furnishing of Governmentowned facilities and equipment at privately owned plants; and ammunition for military salutes at institutions to which issue of weapons for salutes is authorized; $2,736,000,000 (to remain available until expended): Provided, That the unexpended balances of appropriations available under this head for the fiscal year 1952 are hereby merged with this appropriation. MILITARY CONSTRUCTION, ARMY CIVILIAN COMPONENTS

For construction, acquisition, expansion, rehabilitation and conversion of facilities for the training and administration of the reserve components, including contributions therefor, as authorized by the Act of September 11, 1950 (64 Stat. 829), without regard to sections lo uic^i339°*46 1136 and 3734, Revised Statutes, as amended, and land and interests u s e 259, 26?'. 33 USC 733. therein may be acquired and construction prosecuted thereon prior to the approval of title by the Attorney General as required by section 355 of the Revised Statutes, as amended; hire of passenger motor vehicles; $20,000,000, to remain available until expended.
