Salaries and expenses: For expenses necessary for the National Railroad Adjustment Board, including stenographic reporting services as authorized by section.l5 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), $497,000, of which not less than $181,000 shall be available for compensation (at rates not in excess of $75 per diem) and expenses of referees appointed pursuant to section 3 of the Railway Labor Act, as amended. This title may be cited as the "National Mediation Board Appropriation Act, 1954". TITLE V—RAILROAD RETIREMENT BOARD Salaries and expenses. Railroad Retirement Board (trust fund): For expenses necessary for the Railroad Retirement Board, including not to exceed $1,000 for expenses of attendance at meetings concerned with the work of the Board when specifically authorized by the Board; purchase of one passenger motor vehicle, for replacement only; and stenographic reporting services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a); $6,207,000, to be derived from the railroad retirement account.
