Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 24 of Ki«n«th county, the Act of August 13, 1954 (68 Stat. 718, 723), is amended by deleting ^'IfUSC 564note. "Effective on the first day of the fiscal year beginning after the date of the proclamation provided for in section 18 of this Act" and by inserting in lieu thereof "Effective on July 1, 1957". Approved June 29, 1957.

Public Law 85-73 AN ACT To increase the authorization for appropriations for the Hospital Center and facilities in the District of Columbia and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 6 of ciitM'. "*'"^**^ the Act of August 7, 1946 (60 Stat. 896), as amended, entitled "An Act to provide for the establishment of a modern, adequate, and efficient hospital center in the District of Columbia", to authorize the making of grants for hospital facilities to private agencies in the District of Columbia, to provide a basis for repavment to the Government by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, and for other purposes, is further amended by deleting the amount "$35,000,000" and inserting in lieu thereof the amount "$36,710,000"; and by deleting the date "June 30, 1957" and inserting in lieu thereof the date "June 30, 1958". Approved June 29, 1957. Public Law 85-74 AN ACT Relating to the exemption of furlough travel by service personnel from the tax on the transportation of persons. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, effective with respect to amounts paid after the date of the enactment of this Act, section 4263(e) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (relating to exemption from the tax on the transportation of persons in the case of certain round trips by service personnel) is amended by striking out "2.025 cents per mile" and inserting in lieu thereof "2.5 cents per mile". Approved June 29, 1957.
