AN ACT For the relief of Allison B. Clemens.

Be it enacted by the Senate <md House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Allison B, Clemens, of Stoneham, Massachusetts, the sum of $5,000. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Allison B. Clemens against the United States arising out of any and all national service life insurance issued to her husband, the late William J. Clemens, who designated the said Allison B. Clemens as the bene» ficiar^ of such insurance: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 14, 1957. Robert M. Deckard.

AN ACT For the relief of Robert M. Deckard.

Be it enacted by the Senate and Home of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Eobert M. Deckard, of San Bernardino, California, the sum of $1,650.50. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Robert M. Deckard against the United States arising by reason of the loss of personal property sustained by him in a fire which totally destroyed the quarters occupied by him at the F E A M C O M Airbase, J a p a n: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 14, 1957.
