AN ACT To extend the time for the collection of tolls to amortize the cost, including reasonable interest and financing cost, of the construction of a bridge across the Missouri River at Brownville, Nebraska.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the first sentence of section 18(d) of the Act of August 30, 1935 (relating to the construction of certain bridges), as amended by the Act of October 25, 1949, is hereby amended by striking out "thirty years" and inserting in lieu thereof "forty years". AN ACT To further amend Public Law 85-162 and Public Law 84-141, to increase the authorization for appropriations to the Atomic Energy Commission in accordance with section 261 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and for other purposes.

Public Law 85-162, as amended, is further amended by striking thereAnte. p. 117. ^^^^ ^j^^ ^guvQ "$257,230,000" and inserting in lieu thereof the figure "$259,480,000". 71 Stat. 404. SEC. 2. Section 101(e) of Public Law 85-162 is amended by striking therefrom the figure "$7,750,000" for project 58-e-6, project Sherwood plant, and substituting therefor the figure "$10,000,000". 69 Stat. 291. SEC. 3. Section 101(c) of Public Law 84-141, as amended, is further amended by striking therefrom the figure "$10,000,000" for project 56-c-l, particle accelerator program, and substituting therefor the figure "$19,406,000". AN ACT To amend section 1105(b) of title XI (Federal Ship Mortgage Insurance) of the Merchant Marine Act, 1936, as amended, to implement the pledge of faith clause.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 1105 (b) of the Merchant Marine Act, 1936, as amended (46 U.S.C. 1275 (b)), is amended by inserting at the end thereof the following sentences: "If at any time the moneys in the Federal Ship Mortgage Insurance Fund authorized by section 1102 of this Act are not sufficient to pay any amount the Secretary of Commerce is required to pay by suosection (a) of this section, the Secretary of Commerce is authorized to issue to the Secretary of the Treasury notes or other obligations in such forms and denominations, bearing such maturities, and subject to such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Secretary of Commerce, with the approval of the Secretary of the Treasury. Such notes or other obligations shall bear interest at a rate determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, taking into con-
