AN ACT For the relief of Herbert H. Howell. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Herbert H. Howell, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the sum of $246.28. Payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of Herbert H. Howell against the United States for ninety-four hours of annual leave which he had accrued while employed by the Post Office Department but which he was prevented from taking because of administrative error: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined m any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 8, 1958. William T. Manning Co., Inc.
AN ACT For the relief of William T. Manning Company, Incorporated/of Fall River, Massachusetts. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $8,352, to the William T. Manning Company, Incorporated, of Fall River, Massachusetts, in full settlement of all claims against the United States, for the repair of a Browning locomotive crane numbered 01-50 for the Department of the Navy, for which the William T. Manning Company, Incorporated, has never received payment: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this contract shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 8, 1958.
