Private Law 86-182 AN ACT For the relief of Lawrence M. Furtado. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembfed, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Lawrence M. Furtado, the sum of $143.95 in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for compensation for loss of currency and personal property as a result of highway robbery between Bombay and Bhopal, India, on or about January 25, 1957, while he was on official duty as a Foreign Service local employee of the United States Information Agency at Bombay, I n d i a: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved September 16, 1959,

Private Law 86-183 AN ACT For the relief of Martin Ackerman. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherw^ise appropriated, to Martin Ackerman, the sum of $864.25, in full satisfaction of his claim against the United States for compensation for loss of certain personal property resulting from war conditions during July and August 1954, at Haiphong, North Vietnam, while he was serving as Public Affairs Officer, United States Information Agency, at Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved September 16, 1959.
