Appropriations for the National Park Service shall be available for the purchase of not to exceed one hundred and six passenger motor vehicles (of which ninety are for replacement only), including not to exceed forty-three for police-type use which may exceed by $300 each the general purchase price limitation for the current fiscal year; and the objects and purposes specified in the Acts of August 8, 1953 ^^ (16 U.S.C. l b - I d), and July 1, 1955 (16 U.S.C.18f). OFFICE OF TERRITORIES ADMINISTRATION OF TERRITORIES

For expenses necessary for the administration of Territories and for the departmental administration of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Interior, including expenses of the offices of the Governors of Guam and American Samoa, as authorized by law (48 U.S.C., secs. 1422, 1431a 64 Stat. 386. (c)); salaries of the Governor of the Virgin Islands, the Government Secretary, the Government Comptroller, and the members of their immediate staffs as authorized by law (48 U.S.C. 1591, 72 Stat. 68 Stat. 503. 1095); purchase of two passenger motor vehicles; compensation and 48 USC 1641. mileage of members of the legislatures in Guam, American Samoa, and the Virgin Islands as authorized by law (48 U.S.C. secs. 1421d Stat. ^53; 73st^t! (^)' 1431a(c), and 1572e); compensation and expenses of the judi568.' ' ' ciary in American Samoa as authorized by law (48 U.S.C. 1431a (c)); grants to American Samoa, in addition to current local revenues, for support of governmental functions; and personal services, household equipment and furnishings, and utilities necessary in the operation of the houses of the Governors of Guam and American Samoa; $5,834,000: Provided, That the Territorial and local governments herein provided for are authorized to make purchases through the General Services Administration: Provided further, That appropriations available for the administration of Territories may be expended for the purchase, charter, maintenance, and operation of aircraft and surface vessels for official purposes and for commercial transportation purposes found by the Secretary to be necessary.
